Hello there! I’m excited to show you my version of the Hunter’s Star Quilt! The pattern is from The Fat Quarter Shop and their Classic and Vintage series. You can find the pattern for this quilt HERE. I love ALL THINGS classic and vintage and I especially love classic and vintage quilts! The pattern comes with instructions to make a tablerunner, lap quilt, twin quilt and queen quilt.
I decided to make the lap size quilt using camo prints from the Robert Kaufman Sevenberry collection. I used Bella Solids in Parchment for the background and Bella Solids Amelia Orange for the backing and binding. I also quilted in 50wt. Dusty Orange Aurifil thread.
The blocks came together really fast! I definitely recommend getting (or using if you already have) a 9 1/2″ square ruler. I used my 9 1/2″ Creative Grids ruler and it made trimming the blocks very easy. I also used my rotating mat 🙂
The lap size quilt comes out to be 46 1/2″ x 64 1/2″. I plan to give this quilt to my dad for his birthday. I always struggle finding “man quilt” patterns, but this one is perfect! It is in the washing machine right now and I’m planning to gift it to my dad when I see him tonight!
I would definitely use this quilt pattern again! I would love to make a tablerunner and another quilt that gets to live in my house 🙂
The Fat Quarter Shop has also put together an awesome quilt kit including the pattern and Ombre Confetti Metallic from V and Co. You can find that quilt kit HERE. Look how gorgerous it is!
Thank you for reading along! I hope you give the Hunter’s Star pattern a try. It’s super fast…I promise!!
