I am honored to be a part of Elise Baek’s book tour for her brand new book Patchwork Gifts from Tuva publishing. Elise is an incredible maker, an EPP master and an amazing pattern designer! I love her work and her style and I am so happy to have a book full of her creations.
I had such a hard time choosing a project to make for the book tour because I want to make them all! The book is a beautiful compilation of smaller gifts to make as gifts or keep for your own home. There are big, gorgeous pictures along with very helpful step by step diagrams and pictures. These are so helpful to me. I need visuals! Another thing I love about the book are the patterns that come right after each project. I like this so much better than having to find the pattern pieces at the back of the book. The patterns are also full size…no enlarging of patterns! I also love not having to play around with enlarging the pattern pieces.
I finally chose to make the XOXO Two-Way Lunch Tote, but decided to use it as a crochet bag to hold my current on-the-go project. The tote has a honeycomb EPP panel appliqued across the front and I was excited to use the honeycomb shape for the first time. It also has two drawstrings and so many pockets along the front and back. The pattern includes directions for a bottle holder, but I did not include that part because I knew I was going to use my bag for yarn. It is a large tote (10″ W x 9 1/2″ H x 6″ D) and I already love it so much! It makes a great project bag!
If you haven’t been following along on the Patchwork Gifts book tour, please go check out the amazing projects everyone has been making! Their makes have inspired me so much and I cannot wait to try out some of the other projects from this book.
Thank you, Elise, for sharing your gifts and your incredible talents with us!
